whoa! it's friday the 13th... ;)
tonight, i hosted another dinner event for sf foodies at twenty five lusk in soma! the restaurant has recently been voted as the winner of best california in the 2012 abc7 bay area a-list. most of us went to district first for some happy hour before our reservation at 8:30pm. yup, that's the best reservation i can get with over a month advance booking. or, it would have to be at 5:30pm... the food at twenty five lusk were pretty decent. but, i wouldn't said the same for dessert. some of my favorite dishes were pork belly confit (it melts in your mouth), oregon tru cod (the skin is crispy yet the meat is super tender), chicken fried quail (who knew a restaurant like this can whip up some good fried chicken, wait, or is it quail?!) and last but not least, cauliflower creme brulee (absolutely love this one!). by the way, the cauliflower creme brulee is a side dish for dinner, not a dessert!
we will be back here for brunch sometime...
